Aldi Is Selling Rosé- And Chianti-Infused Marinara Sauce - Delish.com

Aldi is back at it again—this time, not with an advent calendar or an absurd condiment, but with, well, actually. Yeah, they're back at it with another absurd condiment: wine-infused marinara sauce.

Before you fight me on the "tomato sauce is a condiment" thing, let's move on to the most important bits of this story. There is marinara out there that's been impregnated with alcohol, and you can buy it at Aldi stores right now.

Here's what we know so far, per @AldisBuys recent Instagram post:

Firstly, the stuff comes in two varieties: Chianti and Rosé. Not only are they different in their infusions, though, the preparation of the sauce is different as well. The rosé version (which does have "natural wine flavor") is made with unspecified herbs and Italian tomatoes. The Chianti one, on the other hand, is specifically made with basil and garlic...and Italian tomatoes.

Initial reactions to the sauces are mostly positive, with many favoring the more savory Chianti sauce over the sweeter rosé. Mostly, though, people seem to just be excited that pumpkin spice everything season is finally over. It's unclear how much the sauces are going for and whether this is a limited-time offering.

So! You know what to do. Head to your local Aldi and pick up, let's say, three bottles jars each of the sauces and make yourself, let's say, six whole boxes of pasta to go with it. How else are you going to determine whether or not you love this new (and absurd) condiment?

Let's block ads! (Why?)
